Yep. My Dad jokes... ...that they found me on E-bay, but I know better. Mom went 'shopping' for me on the internet and found me at the East Haven CT. Animal Shelter through www.petfinder.org which is a wonderful NATIONWIDE organization for the placement of guys like me. That's a pic of me while still in the hokey. But not for long....... |
Introducing the Kobi dog! The world's most extraordinarily ordinary canine one could ever hope to find. ORIGINAL NAME: 'Buddy'. COLOR: one shade past black. HEIGHT: plenty enough. WEIGHT: oof! Oh yea, have I mentioned he's one kibble shy of a full bowl? LIKES: walks, playing Houdini (unsupervised walks), food (any), food containers, a special bone, tummy rubs, cats (see food), and car rides. In fact he's in week three of driver's ed. DISLIKES: snowplows, big trucks, ATV's and not being allowed to feign sleep with his snout upon your dinner plate.

Once again, and as with the Maya cat, we were indeed looking for an animal but alas, the pooch found us. No juggling of toy mice here though. This was an out and out bonafide ear-cocked, cross-eyed, bladder-bustin' request to be let out. Not just out of jail but O-U-T, out. "'Scuse me officer, could I borrow that leash? We thank you kindly." Well, 'Buddy' really did have to go out and in so doing had to pass by a cat named Clarabelle. One hiss from her and the dog's lack of interest was a sure sign he would be fine with our cat at home. In fact, he just really had to go O-U-T, out, remember?
After several more visits, dog was subject to a series of tests (painless) to assure that there are no puppy parasites and a visit by a dog behaviorist, 'Buddy' received a clean bill of health and was ready to be sprung.

On a snowy January 6, 2001-'Buddy' came home with us and immediately convinced us that the doggy head shrink was a charlatan. This dog is a nut case and an escape artist. Within days we had to retrieve the labrador several times (he slips a harness!!). Soon we decided to rename him 'Kobi' as it means "abracadabra*poof*" in Gaelic. No it doesn't. Anyway, he and the Maya cat get on fine though they do play pretty ruff sometimes. They have their own rules I guess. Favorite stunts include giving the cat a huge, sloppy kiss. Cross-eyed black cats don't look siamese when this happens, just real silly. Cat runs under and around dog's legs because she finds it amusing to watch the dog looking up his own tail. Dog chases cat down long hallway; cat chases dog back down long hallway, etc, which of course leads to humans falling all over the place. *whew* Now it's time to take naps in respective corners.......hey wait.... no one's looking. Let's go crash out on one of the human beds! Ahh, yes. Everything is Kobi-setic.......
Stay Tuned!
